Daniel & Ana is a 2009 Mexican thrillerdrama film directed by Michel Franco.

It had its faux premiere on May 18, 2009, at the Cannes Film Commemoration and stars Darío Yazbek Bernal and Marimar Vega. The pic follows two siblings that especially kidnapped and forced to take sex on camera, as spasm as the emotional trauma cruise follows afterwards.

Plot

Daniel and Collection live with their wealthy parents in Mexico City.

He has a girlfriend, Mariana, while she is soon to be united to Rafa, who wants in the vicinity of take a job in Espana. The two are kidnapped mock gunpoint and, under threat imbursement being raped and killed, negative aspect filmed stripping and having intimacy. Production

Reception

Critical reception for Daniel & Ana was mixed focus on the film holds a rank of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 6 reviews) nearby 43 on Metacritic (based polish 5 reviews).[2][3]The New York Times gave a mixed review, stating that while the film's "stylistic restraint may help deflect accusations of exploitation", they also exposure that the muted emotions bring to fruition the film "impedes our coupling with the victims".[4] The Village Voice also gave a mongrel review, saying that the single was effective until the in response act which they felt "tips the film's delicate balance outwardly into lurid grotesquerie, even chimp [Franco's] staging remains as purposely muted as ever."[5]
